I first became a celebrant in November 2023. After performing my very first wedding for two close friends (those absolute stunners pictured there), I quickly realised what an incredible honour it is to stand beside two people on one of the biggest days of their lives.
That first ceremony showed me just how deeply special marriage truly is, and it sparked a passion in me that I didn’t even know was there. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to be part of more ceremonies, each with its own unique story.
I always knew marriage was meaningful, but as a celebrant, hearing two people bare their souls to one another gives it a whole new depth. It’s emotional, powerful, and something I'm honoured to be part of.
When you choose me as your celebrant, you’re not just getting someone to stand at the front and read a script. I’ll work closely with you to create a ceremony that feels relaxed, personal, and completely true to each couple. I’ll guide you through the legal side of things, and make sure the whole process feels easy and stress-free. My goal is simple - to tell your story in a way that feels natural, heartfelt, and completely yours.
Kate, we had the most incredible time with you as our celebrant! It meant so much that we got to be your very first married couple, especially after being friends with you for such a long time. You brought just the right mix of officialism and humour, which was exactly what we wanted for our special day. Even though our ceremony was small, with only five people, you made it feel so meaningful and memorable. We're so thankful you were such a big part of it all; we honestly couldn't have asked for anyone better.

Kate was incredible. My (now) husband and I opted for a more casual ceremony, amongst nature and close family. We didn’t have a team organising it for us and didn’t know what to expect. Kate made us feel really at ease in terms of the celebration and the legal stuff. She sorted all documents and oriented us on what was needed. But best of all was her incredible perspective on our story and the beautiful words she said during the ceremony. I was holding back tears the entire time. Not many people get to marry their special someone amidst a state of emergency (the worst weather event recorded in Dunedin), but Kate made it happen! Our special day was intimate and memorable! Waves crashing, rain pouring, and a world for just the two of us; the whole beach to ourselves with Kate and our witnesses. Clad in a rain jacket and gum boots, Kate held my umbrella and delivered a heartwarming, short and sweet ceremony. To be able to take age-old sentences and make them unique to one couple is true talent. We will always cherish Kate, and highly recommend!
